Rev. Anthony Stephens elected as Youth Pastor
On Sunday, March 30, 2008, the Staff and Youth Pastor Search Committees nominated Rev. Anthony Stephens for election as Youth Pastor of First Baptist Church of Birmingham, Alabama. he was approved unanimously and will begin his ministry at First Baptist Birmingham on April 27th.
Anthony currently serves as Youth Pastor at First Baptist Church of Fairhope, Alabama. Anthony is a native of Madison, Alabama, and he is married to his lovely wife, Naomi. They have a 5 month old son, Drew. Anthony is a graduate of Blue Mountain College in Mississippi – a Southern Baptist institution – and is also completing his Masters of Divinity through the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
Anthony has over 10 years experience in Youth and College ministry. During college, he served as Youth Pastor in two churches in Mississippi, and after college returned to his home church – Wall Highway Baptist in Madison – to serve as Youth Pastor. He served on staff at Wall Highway for 3 years, and then accepted the Youth Pastor position at First Baptist Church of Fairhope, Alabama in 2005.
Anthony’s heart is to reach young people for Christ. Here at First Baptist Birmingham, his responsibilities will be to serve under our Senior Pastor in outreach to our Youth and College ministries.
You are invited on Saturday, March 29, 2008, at 5 pm, to a church-wide fellowship to hear from Anthony and meet his family. At the close of morning worship on March 30, 2008, a specially called Church–in–Conference will be held to consider the nomination of Anthony Stephens to serve as Youth Pastor of First Baptist Church of Birmingham.
